Stories from the set

The names of all the main characters in the animated series are 'speaking'. Ryder ('drive' in English means 'to drive, to control') leads everyone and everything. Chase ('chase' means 'to pursue') is a police dog. Zuma is a rescue dog, named after Zuma Beach in California. Skye (a modified spelling of 'sky', meaning 'sky') is the pilot.

At one point, two more puppies (named Tundra and Rossi) were planned to be added to Paw Patrol, but these plans were not destined to come true.
