What it’s about
Wang Lin lives a quiet rural life, helping his family with woodcarving while preparing for an exam. When clan debts swallow the money set aside for that exam, an uncle arrives with news that the Heng Yue sect is recruiting new disciples. Despite his father's protests, Wang Lin seizes the chance to change his fate. He has no innate talent and only mediocre qualifications, but he trusts his wit and endurance. Ahead lie harsh trials and his own limitations, all to be overcome if he is to become a true immortal cultivator and write his own destiny.
