What it’s about

Krølle Bølle is a young troll who lives in caves beneath the island of Bornholm. His community thrives on bat flights and cave parties, yet its existence is bound by strict rules. The most important one forbids any troll from going up to the surface, because humans are considered dangerous. Krølle Bølle, however, is a troublemaker who questions why such rules exist. When a mysterious rumbling comes from above, his curiosity gets the better of him. He sneaks out to investigate, and his little sister Borra follows. What starts as a playful outing quickly turns into a grand adventure filled with danger and magic.

Director Jan Rahbek brings the classic troll character to the screen with a voice cast led by Carl Løber Roliggaard and Dagmar Celinder Norrbom as the siblings. The film is based on characters created by Ludvig Mahler and an idea by Nina Lyng.
