  1. When Mater, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell were in France, the restaurant «Gusteau» could be noticed (a reference to another Pixar cartoon — «Ratatouille»). Only Gusteau himself was in the car prototype (he looks very much like Mater).

  2. Among Professor Z's henchmen, a group of ZAZ 968 cars can be seen, or more precisely its export variant, the Jalta 968.

  3. John Lasseter came up with the story for the sequel back in 2006, when he was in Europe promoting the first animated film.

  4. At the race in Radiator Springs, among the spectators, you can spot a Planet Pizza car (a reference to "Toy Story"). This car appears in all films produced by Pixar.

  5. All car brands correspond to the countries in which they are produced. For example, in Italy there are a lot of cars of the brands "Ferrari" and "Fiat", in Japan "Mazda" and "Subaru", and in the UK "Land Rover" and "Bentley".
