By the mid-21st century, Tokyo's underworld is ruled by crime bosses who have undergone a procedure that grants them terrifying supernatural powers. Only Braves, bounty hunters who enhance their abilities with drugs, can defeat them. Yashiro, known as the Grim Reaper, became a Brave not for justice but to survive. He spends his free time on pizza, beer, and gambling. His routine is disrupted when a high school girl, Aki Jougamine, offers him a large sum to become her mentor. Reluctantly, he takes her on, and soon finds himself caught in a whirlwind of lethal clashes and irreconcilable conflicts.
