About the film
What it’s about
Nicolau turns 24 in springtime Lisbon but sees no reason to celebrate. He still lives with his parents, holds onto a musician's ambition that goes nowhere, and cannot let go of an ex-girlfriend who left a year ago. Odd jobs keep him afloat but not independent. Then he discovers that his mother is just as dissatisfied with life as he is. The realisation shakes him, yet it also opens a door: he begins to act, taking a job in a stationery shop and renting a room.
What hooks you
João Rosas directs Francisco Melo as Nicolau, with Cécile Matignon as Chloé. The film was selected for IndieLisboa. Its springtime Lisbon setting frames a restrained drama about stalled youth and family unease.
Who it’s for
It will appeal to those who like slow-burning character studies, city-set realism, and stories where small decisions shift a whole life.
