Sam and Naomi meet in a hostel luggage room, but the encounter goes nowhere and they part expecting never to see each other again. A volcanic eruption shuts down all flights, leaving them stranded together. They steal a car and head into the Icelandic highlands, hoping to capture the first images of the eruption.
