Becoming Vera

What it’s about

Vera is an 18-year-old pianist in Miami, a foster child about to age out of the system. She scrapes by with a freelance job painting a music studio, where she meets Hector, the owner and a music producer. Impressed by her talent, he offers her a chance to compose. But Hector exploits her, stealing her composition for his own gain. Betrayed and full of self-doubt, Vera nearly gives up on her dream of a career in Latin jazz. With the support of friends, she must find the strength to trust herself and take one final step toward her future.
