Wang Wei (Xie Miao) was made mute to emphasize his inner strength. This was a joint decision by director Kenji Tanigaki and Miao himself.

Ho's (Brian Le) fighting style is based on the fighting style of one of the characters from the video game Super Smash Bros.

Although Joe Taslim does not smoke in real life, he smoked real cigarettes on screen.

For the Chinese release, the film was re-edited.
