What it’s about
In 1982, the Platt family lives on a quiet suburban street in Michigan. Strange occurrences—nightly rumblings, bizarre plants, a giant dung heap—precede a blackout. When they wake, their entire neighborhood has been torn from its surroundings and deposited hundreds of millions of years in the past, with hungry dinosaurs roaming the streets.

Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor lead the cast as Denise and Greg Platt. Hathaway sought out director David Robert Mitchell after admiring his horror film "It Follows," and he sent her the script, which she eagerly accepted. The film is produced by J.J. Abrams and scored by Michael Giacchino.

- Anne Hathaway really liked director David Robert Mitchell's previous work – the horror film "It Follows" – and when she met him in person, she expressed a desire to work with him someday. After finishing the script for "The Edge of Oak Street," Mitchell sent it to the actress, and she happily accepted the invitation to play one of the roles.
