What it’s about

Doe and Muna are best friends in their teens, living in a small British town where they feel out of place. Doe, a Somali refugee who arrived aged three, is quiet and watchful; Muna, whose family is from Pakistan, is bold and leads them through airport security. They leave for Istanbul, intending to cross into Syria to join a group they believe will give them purpose. When their fixer fails to appear, they are alone in a foreign city and must improvise quickly, testing their courage, faith, and friendship.
