About the film
Some people only learn the hard way.
What it’s about
Tommy, 19, lives for drugs, parties and violence. After a heavy night, he wakes imprisoned in the basement of a remote Yorkshire house. His captors are a strange family intent on reforming him. Tommy tries to escape, but the family's methods grow more intense.
What hooks you
Anson Boon plays Tommy against Stephen Graham as Chris and Andrea Riseborough as Kathryn. Jan Komasa directs. The cast and crew include Ewa Piaskowska as producer and Jerzy Skolimowski as producer.
Who it’s for
It suits viewers who like psychological suspense built on power games and moral ambiguity. Those drawn to family dysfunction, toxic relationships and the question of whether people can truly change will find the central conflict absorbing. The harsh tone also fits tastes for gritty crime stories.
