Stories from the set

The film is based on the comic book series «Aquaman» (2011-2013) by comic book writer and screenwriter Geoff Johns.

Before Jason Momoa was confirmed for the role of Aquaman, Matt Damon and Simon Baker were considered for the part.

At one point, Leonardo DiCaprio's company Appian Way Productions was producing the film.

When Aquaman and Mera travel to Atlantis, among the sunken objects on the seabed you can see an Annabelle doll — a character from another franchise by director James Wan, "The Conjuring," which grew into the "Annabelle" series.
