About the film

What it’s about

In 2002, Kate Moss is 28 and already a legend in fashion, but she longs to be seen as something other than an icon. She accepts an invitation from Lucian Freud, the celebrated painter, to pose for him. The decision brings her into his studio and sets two strong personalities on a collision course. As she sits for the portrait, the process becomes a kind of self-examination, and the distance between the world of fashion and the world of art narrows.

What hooks you

Derek Jacobi plays Lucian Freud, and Ellie Bamber plays Kate Moss. The film is written and directed by James Lucas. It is based on a real encounter between the two figures.

Who it’s for

It suits viewers who enjoy character-driven drama about art, identity, and the tension between public image and private self.
