About the film
Love sucks.
What it’s about
Nat has died, and her husband March suffers from a dust allergy. She returns as a ghost and possesses a vacuum cleaner in order to keep the house clean for him. The rest of the family is strongly opposed to her new form, setting up a conflict between her desire to help and their rejection. Nat must also protect her family from other vengeful spirits in the house, and to become a useful ghost she needs to get rid of the useless ones.
What hooks you
Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke directs, and the film won the Press Award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Davika Hoorne plays Nat, with Witsarut Himmarat as March. The story combines dark comedy, mystery, and political history, with queer elements and a mischievous, playful tone.
Who it’s for
It is a good pick for those who enjoy dark comedies with supernatural twists, playful takes on ghost stories, and films that mix political allegory with absurd humor. It will also appeal to viewers interested in queer narratives and unconventional family dramas.
