Sweetness

What it’s about

Sixteen-year-old Rylee Hill worships Payton, the frontman of the band Floorplan, whose music helped her through hard times. After a concert, he nearly runs her over while texting his dealer. She discovers he is still using drugs despite his public claims. With her police officer father away, she handcuffs Payton to a bed to force him through withdrawal, turning her fantasies into a dangerous reality.

What hooks you

Emma Higgins writes and directs, with Kate Hallett as Rylee and Herman Tømmeraas as Payton. The premise rests on an obsessed fan and a captive rock star, drawing tension from fandom and control.

Who it’s for

It will appeal to those who like psychological tension that builds from an ordinary situation into something unsettling, and to viewers drawn to stories about obsession, power, and the darker side of celebrity worship.
