About the film
Don't blow it.
What it’s about
Six months after a student dies mysteriously, new girl Chrys Willet transfers in. She is grieving her father and avoids making friends, but an evening with classmates changes everything. One of them blows an ancient Olmec whistle Chrys found, and the piercing sound leaves the group reeling. From then on, they are stalked by horrifying visions and by death itself.
What hooks you
Corin Hardy directs Dafne Keen as Chrys, with Sophie Nélisse as Ellie Gains and Sky Yang as Rel Taylor. The short description calls it an effective horror starring the lead of 'Yellowjackets'. The premise of a cursed object that summons one's own future death gives the story an immediate, personal threat.
Who it’s for
It is a good pick for those who like supernatural horror set in high school, where a cursed artifact brings death closer with every use. It will also appeal to viewers who enjoy stories about grief and reluctant friendships, and to those who are drawn to ancient mysteries with a deadly modern twist.
