- Hind Rajab herself does not appear on screen; only her voice is heard in the film (in a phone call to the Red Crescent Society). Director and screenwriter Kaouther Ben Hania said she decided not to cast anyone in the role in memory of the girl, and added that Rajab's mother actively supported her intention to make this film.
