In North Korea, Gi-cheol lands a job as a customs officer at a border checkpoint, a post that delights his family. He refuses bribes from smugglers and remains loyal to the regime, intent on exposing traitors. But when a smuggler frames him for bribery, everything collapses. Gi-cheol and his family must escape the country and cross the border, even as former comrades turn their weapons on him.
