About the film
Based on a real masterpiece
What it’s about
Anatoli Novoseltsev works as a financial analyst at a ratings company led by Ludmila Kalugina, a director absorbed in fighting competitors. An old friend, Yuri Samokhvalov, is appointed assistant director and wants to promote Novoseltsev to manager, but Kalugina objects. Samokhvalov suggests Novoseltsev flirt with her, and ironically, the two fall in love.
What hooks you
Svetlana Khodchenkova plays Kalugina, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy plays Novoseltsev, who rides a motorcycle and raises two daughters alone. The film is a remake of a classic Soviet comedy; the rights to the original play were acquired from director Eldar Ryazanov in the mid-1990s. The catalogue slogan calls it 'based on a real masterpiece.'
Who it’s for
It suits viewers who like romantic comedies set in the workplace, with a touch of nostalgia for classic Soviet cinema.
