What it’s about

In March 1920, school lets out early near Center, North Dakota, as a gentle snowfall turns dangerous. Hazel Miner and her two siblings, Emmet and Myrdith, set out for home, but the wind and snow make the journey treacherous. Their sled overturns into a coulee, and the children huddle together, trying to stay warm and awake through the freezing night. Their parents and friends search frantically, hoping to reach them before it is too late.
