Hellbilly Hollow

What it’s about

A group of paranormal YouTubers travels deep into the Alabama countryside to film at a haunted attraction the day before Halloween. They anticipate staged scares, but instead encounter Tickles and his caretaker brother Bull, a sinister presence far more frightening and lethal than any ghost. The investigators, along with local thrill-seekers, are killed off one by one.

What hooks you

Kevin Wayne directs and stars as Tickles, with Sandra Ellis Lafferty as Virginia and Danny Vinson as the Sheriff. The film is shot in a found-footage style, which lends an unsettling immediacy to the backwoods horror.

Who it’s for

It is worth a look for anyone who enjoys found-footage horror with a rural setting and a relentless, deadly antagonist. It will appeal to those who like tension that builds through first-person camerawork and a sense of inescapable dread.
