Brett Goldstein (credited as screenwriter, producer, and actor) wrote the screenplay specifically for Jennifer Lopez. He first sent her the script in 2023, but the actress declined to participate in the project due to being busy. After some time, he sent her the script again, emphasizing that filming would only begin with Lopez in the lead role or the project would be abandoned altogether. Lopez agreed.
