- Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in Gary Goddard's Masters of the Universe (1987), wanted Chris Hemsworth to take on the role this time, but he declined, feeling the character was too similar to Thor, whom Hemsworth played in the Marvel films.
- Jared Leto did not take part in promoting the film. The actor's name did not appear in the film's promotional clips or social media posts; Jared also did not attend the premiere, did not participate in the press tour, and did not mention the film on his social media pages.
