Queen Lovisa is about to marry Amir in a grand winter ceremony, and the whole town is celebrating. Then Amalia, mother of the old tyrant, suddenly appears with soldiers. She insists that the throne must return to her family, and the young crown prince Ville is to become king, as he has always dreamed. But is he ready for the role, and what does his grandmother really want?
