Abdellatif Kechiche is a French-Tunisian actor, screenwriter and director, born on December 7, 1960 in Tunis, Tunisia. As a child he moved to France and began his career as an actor before turning to directing.

He gained recognition for films noted for their realism, dialogue and direction of actors, in particular "Games of Love and Chance" and "The Secret of the Grain", for which he received four César Awards each, and "Blue Is the Warmest Colour", the film that brought him the prestigious Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. He recently released "Mektoub, My Love: Canto Due", the final part of the trilogy and possibly his last film, as in 2025 he suffered a stroke, which significantly limited his work.

His films often explore human relationships, questions of identity, working-class communities and the path to integration. His work has received numerous awards, although it has sometimes also sparked controversy regarding his filming methods.
