Biography
Ari Savonen (born July 7, 1987 in Saarijärvi) is a Finnish independent director, makeup artist, special effects specialist and actor. He is best known for his work in the Finnish independent film industry and the horror-fantasy film Backwood Madness (2025), which he directed, wrote and produced.
Savonen is also the organizer of the Trash and Underground Film Festival and a former president of the Finnish Independent Film Association (Findie Ry).
