Armand Douglas Hammer (born August 28, 1986, Los Angeles, California, USA), better known as Armie Hammer, is an American actor, most famous for his roles as the twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in David Fincher's film "The Social Network," Prince Andrew Alcott in Tarsem Singh's film "Mirror Mirror," John Reid in Gore Verbinski's film "The Lone Ranger," Illya Kuryakin in Guy Ritchie's film "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," and Oliver in the film "Call Me by Your Name."

Hammer was born in Los Angeles, California. His father is a major businessman, Michael Armand Hammer. His paternal great-grandmother was the Russian actress and singer Olga Vadina, née von Root, daughter of Tsarist army general Vadim Nikolayevich Root. His great-grandfather was the famous millionaire of Jewish origin, a native of the Russian Empire, Armand Hammer. Hammer spent his childhood in Los Angeles and the Cayman Islands.

"I got this tattoo when I was 18 years old. I got it to pay tribute to my Slavic heritage. My brother has the same one, and my father does too. Our family came from the Soviet Union; my great-great-grandfather was born in New York but constantly traveled back and forth. He had the chance to work with Lenin, Brezhnev, and Gorbachev. He very wisely stepped aside from Stalin, as he knew that "friendship" with him would not end well. My great-grandfather was involved in big politics and trade with Russia. I know that he was a key figure in organizing the summit between Reagan and Gorbachev."
