Biography

Aytek Şayan is a Turkish actor known for his versatile roles in television, film, and theater. Born in 1985 in Izmir, Turkey. Şayan initially chose a different path, studying animal husbandry at Uludağ University, before discovering a passion for the performing arts. He later graduated from the theater department of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University.

Şayan gained significant recognition for his role as Lais in the historical drama series Resurrection: Ertuğrul. His television career continued to flourish with notable roles in series such as Kuzgun, where he played the character Ali, and Awakening: The Great Seljuks as Rüstem. More recently, he reached a wider audience with a role in the acclaimed Netflix series Kübra. With a solid theater background, Şayan continues to be a prominent figure in the Turkish entertainment industry, praised for his ability to portray both complex antagonists and relatable characters with depth and authenticity.

Beyond his television success, Şayan has made a name for himself in film and on digital streaming platforms. He starred in the 2022 drama film Tell Me About Your Darkness, demonstrating his ability to work with intense, character-driven narratives. His filmography also includes the 2024 film The Surface of Water, further cementing his presence in independent Turkish cinema. Aytek Şayan continues to be recognized as one of the most dedicated actors of his generation, even receiving the Best Actor award at the Direklerarası Theater Awards in 2025 for his role in the play The Mirror.
