Bernhard Jasper is a German cinematographer and director, born in 1972. At the age of 23 he made several short films and eventually passed the entrance examination for the Film Academy Ludwigsburg (Germany), where he studied directing and cinematography. During his studies he specialized in cinematography and got the opportunity to work in the real film business. He shot numerous commercials and music videos for well-known music artists and companies. After graduating in 2001 he shot his first TV film. Since then he has shot 19 TV films and 24 films, most of which are among the most successful German box office films.

He also shot the international films Open Water 2 and Life Above All, which were shortlisted for the 2011 Oscar. In both seasons of the first German Amazon series You Are Wanted (2017–2019), Bernhard was responsible not only for the cinematography but also for directing. In 2021 he worked as cinematographer on Zack Snyder's film Army of the Dead, directed by and starring Matthias Schweighöfer, the fifth most popular Netflix film of that year. He is currently working on a new Netflix film titled Lift, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Kevin Hart, directed by F. Gary Gray.
