Biography

Buddy Campbell grew up in the foothills of the Ozarks in Arkansas. While earning his degree at Arkansas Tech University, he worked several jobs, including as a film critic for his hometown newspaper. While he was being paid to watch every film that came to town, he became addicted to cinema. He landed leading roles in student plays, but after graduating he decided his acting career was over. For the next twenty-plus years he made a living in the real world doing "real" jobs, but his love of film never faded. In 2013 he responded to an open casting call for a feature film that was dear to him. The film was called "Greater" and told the true story of one of his favorite players on the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, who died tragically in a car accident several years earlier. He auditioned and got the role of a schoolteacher.

Although he had no lines, the experience of shooting on a real set ignited in him a desire to continue. He decided to attend classes for beginning actors at Excel Models and Talent in Little Rock. Working with like-minded people and the wise advice of owner Melissa Moody strengthened his determination to make acting a new life goal. Producer James Wood cast him in the short film "Trigger" directed by Donavon Thompson. His performance in "Trigger" was noticed. Soon after, he was invited to join the cast of the feature film "Boo." This was followed by a string of offers, including other feature films and short films, as well as a TV series and a commercial. He finally believes his life is on its intended path and could not be happier with the results he has achieved.
