Biography

David Kross (born 4 July 1990) is a German actor. He began his career at a young age with a small role in the 2002 film Help, I'm a Girl and worked irregularly, mainly focusing on his studies. In 2008 he played Michael Berg in the film The Reader. For this role he was nominated for various awards. He later received the Sierra Award at the Las Vegas Film Critics Society Awards for his work in the category Youth in Film.

Since then, Kross has appeared in both German-language and English-language films, including War Horse, Rush, and In White Captivity.

He has two brothers and two sisters.

The actor's childhood was spent in Bargteheide, where he attended the Eckhorst comprehensive school until 2007.

In 2009, Kross began a three-year course of study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), hoping to improve his acting skills and spoken English. However, David dropped out at the end of that same year and focused on filming movies.
