He attended San Mateo High School. He worked as an actor. Since 2004, he was married to actress Rebecca Gayheart, and the couple has 2 children: daughters Billie and Georgia. Eric died on February 19, 2026, from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the age of 53.
