From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Jimmy Hanley (22 October 1918 — 13 January 1970) was a British actor.

Born in Norwich, Norfolk. Hanley began his career as a child actor, then became popular in juvenile roles. In his teenage years he was groomed by the Rank studio system, and he achieved film star status as the "boy next door" type.

The young actor, blinded by dreams of fame, studied at the Italia Conti Stage Academy, and during his studies there he made his stage debut at the London Palladium as John Darling in Peter Pan.

He later worked in television, hosting the ITV series Jim's Inn, which combined advertising messages with a soap opera plot.
