Joseph Estevez (sometimes referred to as Joe Phelan) is an American actor and director. He is the younger brother of actor Martin Sheen and the uncle of Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Renée Estevez, and Ramon Estevez. After serving in the United States Navy, Estevez began his acting career in the early 1970s. He initially used his mother's maiden name, Phelan, and later his own surname, Estevez. Throughout his career, Estevez has appeared in numerous roles in film and television, playing leads, supporting and minor characters, and antagonists, and has often appeared in mid-budget and low-budget independent films and B movies. In addition, he has worked in voice acting and has performed in stage productions. In one interview, he stated that he wants to make films that change the world for the better.

Estevez substituted for his brother in a number of long shots and in some voice-over work in the film Apocalypse Now (1979), when Martin Sheen was recovering from a heart attack. In 1992 he appeared in the films Armed for Action and Blood on the Badge. He plays the villain Cyrus in the film Dunby (2012), in which former The Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider plays the role of a mysterious stranger who comes to a small town and falls in love with the spoiled daughter of Estevez's character, the local doctor. He also appeared alongside David Faustino in the film Not Another B Movie (2011), released by Troma Entertainment.
