Joey Batey is a British actor and singer. He is best known for the role of Jaskier in the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher.

Joey Batey was born in 1989 in Newcastle, England. Joey's parents are Mark Batey and Sue Wilkinson. Joey has two sisters, Laura and Susie. His mother works as a senior producer at British Broadcasting. It is known that Joey grew up in a very musical family, "especially on his mother's side."

He graduated with honors from St Cuthbert's Catholic High School. He received his higher education at Cambridge University — Joey studied modern and medieval languages. He studied acting at the Jean Lecoq International Theatre School of Arts in Paris. Then he studied acting at the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School of Arts in Paris. In 2008, Joey Batey began his career as a stage actor. He performed in productions on Broadway and the West End.

His film debut came in 2013, when he played the role of Dixie in the television film "Murder on the Home Front." Joey continued to appear in series, but more or less significant fame came to him only in 2018, after the role of Pierre in the historical series "Knightfall." In 2019, Batey played the role of the bard Jaskier in the first season of the series "The Witcher" from the American company Netflix.
