Biography
Sir Arthur John Gielgud was an English actor and theatre director, one of the greatest performers of Shakespearean roles in the history of British theatre. He was the recipient of all the major acting awards: an Oscar, a Grammy, an Emmy, a Tony, as well as BAFTA, Golden Globe, the Laurence Olivier Award and Japan's Imperial Prize (1994).
