Biography

Julian Smith is an influential screenwriter, director, and actor with an online audience of about 2 million people. His popular comedy shorts average 8 million views per month, and to date their total has exceeded 350 million. He attributes his unique voice to the influence of masters such as John Lasseter, Steven Spielberg, and Charlie Kaufman; Julian's range extends from eccentric comedy to suspense and drama.

Smith's success led him to collaborate with James Cameron and Amy Acker, brought him an appearance on The Tyra Banks Show, and an invitation from Facebook to create a digital short featuring their employees (the first in their history). Julian also directed two single-camera comedy pilots and several commercials (Hewlett Packard, Purina, Hot Pockets); one of them ("I Get Beggin'") aired during the 2015 Grammys, became a worldwide trend on Twitter and Facebook, and received a mention in AdWeek.
