Born in 1971. Graduated from Kansai Gakuin University with a degree in Business and Commerce. While studying at university, Koto Nagata participated in academics and cheerleading, devoting all her passion to it.

Using her experience from dance lessons in New York, she was involved in directing and planning stage productions and choreography for her team. And naturally, she began to take an interest in film production as her career.

Soon after graduating in 1995, she joined the WILCO corporation.

After starting her career, she soon began to develop her talent. She worked on many productions of films, TV series, commercials, and television advertising as an assistant director.
