Kou was born in Mon State, Myanmar. He began dreaming of making his own films as early as middle school. After passing the intermediate-level Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Kou enrolled at the Tokyo School of Film Technology Toho Gakuen in Tokyo, Japan, to study general film techniques. He began making his own films in 2020. His first short film is titled "Happy Anniversary." He is passionate about the thriller and romance genres, which are very different.

In addition to directing, Kou also works as a freelance photographer, editor, Japanese language teacher, and producer. Kou is currently studying for a bachelor's degree at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic.
