Lior Raz is an Israeli actor and screenwriter best known for creating the political thriller Fauda and portraying the main character Doron Kavillio. Born to immigrants from Iraq and Algeria, Raz was raised in Jerusalem.

In October 1990, an Arab Palestinian terrorist stabbed the actor's girlfriend Iris to death in Jerusalem. The terrorist was later released from prison in a prisoner exchange. These events were incorporated into the series Fauda.
