Biography

Marie Denarnaud is a French actress. In her youth she attended the Lycée Jules-Ferry in Versailles and then studied dramatic art in the open class of the Florent course. In 2000 she first appeared on screen in a leading role in Patrick Sébastien's film "Je t'aime", and the following year in Yvan Attal's film "Ma femme est une actrice" alongside him and Charlotte Gainsbourg in the leading roles. In 2002 she became Clémence's sister alongside Dominique Lavanant in the sisterly crime series Thérèse.com, which she would leave at the end of the third season, in 2004, to join the series "Merci, les enfants vont bien" (2005). In 2003 she truly became known to the general public, truly revealing her dramatic qualities, thanks to her role as Ninon in Xavier Giannoli's "Les Corps impatients". In June 2005 Alain Tasma's television film "Nuit noire, 17 octobre 1961" aired, in which she plays the wife of an ordinary policeman, François Martin (played by Jean-Michel Portal). This fiction, which recounts the real events of the massacre of Algerian demonstrators as a result of brutal repression by the French police in Paris, was shown on the big screen in October 2005.

In August 2010 Mélanie Laurent chose her for her first feature film "Les Adoptés" with Clémantine Cellari and Denis Ménochet in the leading roles4. When the film was released in November 2011, Elle magazine said she "lights up" the film5, and Le Parisien emphasized that she is "radiant" in it6. She would reunite with the director for the films "Respire" (2014) and "Plonger" (2017). In October 2013 Audrey Estrougo presented her drama film "Une histoire banale" (2014) at the Saint-Jean-de-Luz film festival, where Marie Denarnaud "masterfully played a raped young woman trying to return to a normal life". In early April 2021 she worked as a commissioner alongside Audrey Fleurot and Mehdi Nebbou in the comedy crime series HPI, which that year became the most popular in France. In September she became part of the cast of the mini-series "L'Absente", produced by producer Sophie Révil, who emphasized that in it she is "stunningly convincing as a pregnant policewoman who absolutely wants to solve this mysterious case before giving birth".
