Martina Plura is a German film director. She began making her first films at a young age together with her twin sister Monika. After graduating from school in Neuwied she studied media art at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne; she then spent a year abroad at the International School of Film and Television in Cuba, where she also shot her documentary "Cuba Libre".

From 2012 to 2014 she studied directing at the Hamburg Media School, earning a Master of Arts degree. She became known for works such as her directorial debut "Vorstadtrocker" (2015), the western "Dreizehnuhrmittags" (2017) and the ZDFneo sitcom "Tanken – mehr als Super".
