   Mateusz graduated from Tadeusz Reytan High School in Warsaw, and in 2004 from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy.

   Mateusz was born into an acting family; he is the son of actor Maciej Damięcki and Joanna Damięcka, the grandson of actor and director Dobiesław Damięcki and actress and director Irena Damięcka-Górska, the older brother of actress Matylda Damięcka, the nephew of actor Damian Damięcki, and the cousin of actor Grzegorz Damięcki.
