Michael Wright (April 6, 1956 – August 21, 2026) was an American film and television actor, best known for his role as Eddie Kane Jr. in Robert Townsend's 1991 film "Five Heartbeats." Wright's television work includes the 1983 NBC science fiction miniseries "V," the 1984 sequel "V: The Final Battle," and the series "V" as Elias Taylor, the episode "The Savage" of the 1987 television series "Miami Vice," as well as the 1997 HBO series "Oz" as Omar White from 2001 to 2003. He also played Clinton, the leader of the "Del Bombers," in the cult film "The Wanderers."

Among Wright's film roles are Victor Duncan in the 1987 drama "The Principal," which also starred James Belushi, and the 1994 film "Sugar Hill" with Wesley Snipes; his last film was "The Interpreter" in 2005. He also appeared as a guest on other television shows, including "NYPD Blue." In 1982, he appeared in Peter Byrne's production of Barry Keefe's play "The Barbarians" at the SoHo Rep theater alongside Gregg Martin and then-unknown actor Kevin Spacey.
