Amelia Fiona "Minnie" Driver is a British-American actress and singer. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1997 ("Good Will Hunting"), and is also a multiple Emmy Award nominee. Minnie Driver was born into the family of the famous businessman and multimillionaire Ronnie Driver and his wife Gaynor. She graduated from Bedales School and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Minnie first gained public recognition for playing the lead role in the film "Circle of Friends". For the role of Skylar in the film "Good Will Hunting" she was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress. In 2003-2004 she had comedic roles on television, appearing alongside former "Monty Python" member John Cleese. Driver later found moderate success on television, earning Emmy nominations for roles in the short-lived FX series "The Riches" (2007-2008) and the Lifetime film "Return to Zero" (2014).

In 2014-2015 the actress appeared in the short-lived NBC sitcom "About a Boy", and in 2016 she began appearing in the ABC sitcom "Speechless". Among other things, she voiced animated characters, in particular in Disney's "Tarzan" and the Japanese "Princess Mononoke". Even before Driver gained recognition as an actress, she was part of the band Puff, Rocks and Brown, which got a contract with Island Records. Driver returned to music in 2000, and in 2004 signed contracts with EMI and other labels. She released the single Everything I've Got in My Pocket, which rose to number 34 in the UK, then Invisible Girl (number 68). The album Everything I've Got in My Pocket reached number 44 on the chart, and Driver wrote ten of the album's eleven songs.
