Mounia Akl is a Lebanese director and screenwriter living between Beirut and New York. Mounia holds a Bachelor of Architecture from ALBA (Lebanon) and an MFA in directing from Columbia University (New York). In addition to her directing work, Mounia taught directing at Northwestern University (Chicago) and led a screenwriting lab at Columbia University, where she was also an assistant to Richard Peña. "Costa Brava, Lebanon" (2021) is her first feature film.
