Paul Benedict (September 17, 1938 – December 1, 2008) was an American actor who appeared many times on television and in film from the 1960s onward. He was known for his roles as the Digit Artist on the popular PBS children's show Sesame Street and as the eccentric English neighbor Harry Bentley on the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons. He is often mistakenly credited as Charlie Bucket's schoolteacher (the uncredited role of Mr. Turkentine) in the cult film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, which was actually played by David Battley.
