Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, throughout the 1950s and 60s in a creative family household - not unfamiliar with stage appearances.

Soaked in British culture for the year of 1966 when on a family holiday in the UK, including pop culture through pirate radio stations, Top of the Pops TV, Carnaby Street, loud jukebox in the Earls Court Overseas Visitors Club Cavern Bar with the Troggs, Kinks, Marc Bolan's T-Rex ... and reading a weekly BEANO comic.

Matured in the 1970s and 80s into being a musician, potter, producer, enabler, father, event manager, sound engineer, band manager, video maker, curator of exhibitions, pretend farmer and a lover of cooking.

Received a diploma in Film and Television Production in 1989.
