Born in Bangkok, Thailand, lived in Nairobi, Kenya for over 10 years and in New York for over 20 years. Started acting in theater in Nairobi for 4 years. After returning to Thailand, in 1999 he got his first film role in The Beach (1999) with Leonardo DiCaprio, and then in Brokedown Palace (1999) with Claire Danes.

Since then he has appeared in more than 80 productions, including Only God Forgives (2013) with Ryan Gosling and Kristin Scott Thomas, The Lady (2011) with Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis, No Escape (2015) with Pierce Brosnan and Owen Wilson.
